The Shrifter®, a wireless paddle shifter, is now adaptable to GM's latest six speed transmissions - the 6L80E and 6L90E! Developed in conjunction with HGM Automotive, the new ShrifterSix™ connects directly to the factory TCU and harness. Simply connect the single OE TAPShift wire to the included signal converter harness as well as 12V and ground leads from the car. A separate trans controller is NOT required. The ShrifterSix™ is a wireless design that provides ultra quick up and downshifts without removing your hands from the steering wheel. With the right calibration, the ShrifterSix™ paddle shifter will change gears in milliseconds--Faster than any mechanical manual or automatic floor shifter. With the ShrifterSix™, power shifting your 6L automatic has never been easier or more exciting! Of course, since the ShrifterSix™ only controls the forward gears, a separate mechanical floor or column shifter is required for “Park/Reverse/Neutral/Drive”--the same method is employed by ALL factory manumatics such as Porsche Tiptronic or GM Tapshift for safety reasons.
The ShrifterSix™ paddle shifter accepts popular aftermarket steering wheels and fits a wide range of factory and aftermarket non-airbag steering columns without modification. It does NOT work with airbag steering wheels and should never be used in street driven vehicles that came equipped with airbags from the factory. Combined with a modern electronic transmission and controller, the ShrifterSix™ paddle shifter adds performance and style to your 6L80E/6L90E equipped hot rod.
APPLICATION: This paddle shifter fits popular 67-94 GM spline steering columns. This spline is also the industry standard for aftermarket steering columns from Ididit and Flaming River.
